Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation is a great resource on financial education and literacy. The Money Smart program is a whole curriculum that helps families strengthen their money management skills. FDIC understands that financial education means financial stability for families. Their mission is to help families increase savings, buy homes, improve financial health and well-being.
Among other modules, FDIC offers a curriculum for young adults and elementary school students.
We use this curriculum in designing our games as a validated resource of money management information recommended for our audience – six to twelve year olds. The comprehensive coverage of financial information by FDIC allows us to experiment with media and add plenty of creativity and color to the serious subject of finance!
We love the FDIC Power Point Slides on their web site – check them out and see for yourself!
